Extended Projects Class-
This semester I am taking an extended projects class. When it came to deciding what to photograph I wasn't sure what I wanted to focus on but I knew I needed to feed my creativity and do some experimenting. For the first few weeks of class I played with some ideas but still wasn't happy.
Last week I came across some work from a freelance photographer in Texas, Cooper Neill. He is injecting 100% creativity into his sports photography by shooting double exposures on 35mm film. (Here is a link to his website, check him out!) Once I saw his work I was totally inspired and knew I needed to give this a try myself.
Neill's photographs have served as my "springboard" of inspiration this semeseter. He composes and layers his subjects, focal points, and colors in a very thoughtful way. I've started shooting with some of these elements in mind. I decided to shoot digital double exposures in camera. This allows me to easily experiment and see the results as I develop my style and balance between the two layers.
Check out the results of my first photoshoot coming up in my next blog post.
